What will be focus on? How will we use the time?

The workshop will share experiences of creating communities of practice in and between organisations (based on my experiences from a large UK charity and a local strategic partnership).

Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the theory and practice of leaning in communities, and how to promote the generation of new practice communities in different spheres of influence.

What will I learn to do?

To identify communities of practice, the conditions that sustain them, what they can do to create the conditions for communities to grow and thrive.

What will I understand?

The part played by participation in practice communities in the acquisition of embodied tacit know-how and expertise; How communities develop and in what optimum conditions; The role of communities of practice in partnership working.

How will I learn to understand and do better?

Processes for organisational growth and change led by understanding from practice

Interagency collaboration and partnership

Models for new leaning and engagement

Strategies for organisational growth and change based on collaborative learning
